Caracteres de Chine (CDC) is created in 2000.
CDC opens its first workshop in Shanxi Province in a small community called Erliban, 400km away from Taiyuan.
In the early years, restoring Chinese furnitures left untended in local people’s attic count as CDC main’s activity.
Reviving old pieces is the watchword of Caracteres de Chine :
The assembly technique, the brass or wrought iron hardeware... everything is thoroughly respected.
But the minimalism and uncluttered style of Shanxi’s furniture are not the only elements which caught our interest.
As a matter of fact, the Sichuan region also offers pure delight often distinguished by their carvings and most refined lines.
While combining those various factors CDC gradually enriched its Collection Gallery.
In 2007 we created a new workshop in Sichuan Province, near Chengdu, in the small town of Deyang.
Shortly afterwards in 2008, a terrible earthquake hit the region and forced us to leave for safety concerns.
From that time on, Beijing became our main base, and the renovation, design and other work of art is entirely made there, with the fine help of local craftmen.
Our network of professional carpenters, smiths and metal worker allows us to provide the best quality service.
Over the years, our design and skills have diversified significantly.
Whatever your most ambitious request can be, there must be something we can do for you.
From the purest renovation of an antique to the entire custom made piece or the conversion of a tradionnal cabinet to a more contemporary adapted daily use or
simply some brass, wrought iron hardware accessories to bring an Asian touch to your furnitures… give a free rein to your imagination !
CDC sourcing services with products search, monitoring production step process, providing quality control and taking care of the transportation is dedicated to professionals.
Feel free to contact us! for any further information, we remain at your disposal.
